The process
What to Expect
To begin the process of filing your return remotely, you first must contact me. You can call me at (407)687-3867, you can email me at dramirez@ramireztaxpros.com or you can use the calendars on the home page to schedule an appointment. We can then talk about your situation and what I need to complete the return. We will discuss the estimated timeframe as well as an estimate of the cost. I will be happy to take whatever time it takes to answer all your questions about the process. As questions come in the preparation process, I will be in contact to resolve them.
I will also ask you to create an account at https://RamirezTaxPros.mytaxportal.online/#/login, so that we can share information back-and-forth. When the return is finished, I will send it to you through the MyTAXportal account that you have already set up. Once you have reviewed the return, signed any necessary forms and paid my fee (or signed the documents to have it taken from the refund), I will e-file the return. The IRS typically accepts or rejects the e-filing within a few minutes. If there is a reject that I can’t resolve myself immediately, I will contact you to resolve it.
Accuracy Review
I review all returns for obvious errors before I file them. However, as with any complicated process, mistakes (although very rare) may happen. If an error on my part results in any interest or penalty charges, I will reimburse you for that charge as long as I am notified as soon as you receive notice. This does not include any additional tax due since you would have paid that had there been no error.
Secure Communication
The entire process of preparing your tax return can be completed quickly and efficiently without the need for face-to-face meetings using the latest tax and communication software. Documents can be exchanged through our secure portal, email, or regular mail. We will communicate by phone, text, email, or video call. In some instances, you may be able to sign the return electronically; if not, the forms will have to be signed and uploaded, e-mailed, or mailed back to me.
Typical Required Documents
- Personal Information:
- Prior year’s tax return if available
- Name, SS or ITIN number, birthdates of all taxpayers and dependents
- Number of months dependents lived with you
- If you are a noncustodial parent, Form 8332 from the custodial parent releasing their right to claim the child.
- Childcare records including providers address, Tax Id number and amount paid.
- Amount of any stimulus payment received
- Identity Protection PIN if one was issued to you by the IRS
- Bank account information for Direct Deposit
- Income
- W-2 forms from employers
- Any 1099 forms, including 1099-G showing state refunds or unemployment payments
- Forms SSA-1099 or RRB-1099 showing Social Security/Railroad benefits
- Schedules K-1
- Records of self-employed income and expenses including mileage log for business miles.
- Record of income and expenses for Rental properties
- Gambling income Form W-2G
- Cryptocurrency Transactions
- Alimony paid or received
- Records of any Estimated Tax Payments
- Deductions
- Home mortgage interest Form 1098
- Real estate and personal property tax records
- Receipts for Cash donations to houses of worship, schools, and other charitable organizations
- Records of non-cash charitable contributions
- Medical expenses including health insurance premiums and out of-pocket expenses paid to doctors, dentists, and hospitals.
- Health Insurance
- Form 1095-A if anyone was enrolled in an insurance plan through the Marketplace
- Educational Expenses
- Form 1098-T
- Records of any scholarships or qualified educational expenses
- Form 1098-E showing any student interest paid.
